I am a GEMS member for the past 11 years and always pay my contribution timeously. This year I learnt that my membership for medical aid has been suspended due to the fact that I had registered an adult dependent as a child dependent. I have never registered any adult dependent as a child dependent and vs verso as a result of this allegation I was informed that I owe GEMS R7000.00. Whilst trying to deal with the problem I then discovered that GEMS is still continuing to deduct premiums for the medical aid even though my medical aid has been suspended, Worse still they also deduct arrears to make up for the R7000.00 I alleged owe them. I do not member giving them permission to deduct premiums and money for the arrears from my account. Their for I considered such act to *******. in the meantime my Son and myself who are in chronic medication continue to suffer because we can not use medical aid. I need this matter to be resolved as quickly as humanly possible.
