My mother is a member of this medical aid. I’m quite sickly so she keeps me on the medical aid. Now because I’m an adult, every year in January she has to send an affidavit to ensure that they keep me covered. She did so, twice before my birthday but month end January they deregistered me, claiming they didn’t receive correspondence. Now they’re telling me that I need to reapply and it will take 3 months before I can get any benefits and another 12 months before I can get any chronic medication. Wow, I’d like to congratulate GEMS on their competency (I’m being facetious by the way). I’m seriously disgusted! Just goes to show that anything belonging to the government is absolute ****!!!
