Incompetence to progress applications

Boy oh boy, where to start....

I have been appointed by the FS DoE this year and on 12th of March 2017 I sent my first application to Gems.

Every second or third day from then on I have received sms's and letters via post asking for documents that, according to them, are still outstanding.

These documents, being my latest salary slip and certificate of previous medical aid end date.

I have phoned them after emailing them again and they again said these documents are outstanding.

From then onward I have sent the very same documents EIGHT TIMES and again, on the 22nd of May I got the same sms!

I informed them that if anything was to happen to me where I came in need of medical support while Gems is *********** to resolve this problem, I will make sure steps are taken against Gems as I have given more than a month from 1st application until the date when my previous medical aid was stopped.

I warned that if this problem was not resolved by month end, they were forcing me to post this whole event on HelloPeter.com, so here it is.

With my comaint email I also attached proof of all the emails with the very same attachments that was sent 8 times and then I attached them again to that email.

After a week, no feedback from the complai ts department, I phoned again. The co sultant said that he saw that those "oustanding" documents were indeed attached to the many emails I have sent.

Two days later I received an sms reading: GEMS: Your application has been accepted for 01 July 2017 . Should you wish to be joined as of 01 June 2017 with a double deduction. Please contact GEMS

As I have not had any medical cover for the last month, I decided to take the double deduction and phone them. What a mistake!

The consultant at the membership department at first told me that the joining date cannot be moved up to 1 June 2017. After 10min of explaining that the sms I had received said that it can be done, she understood my request and she told me that she had changed the dat on her system to 1 June.

Now she tells me that she has to put me through to the payments department to arrange for the double deduction. After the co sultant picked up the phone and I talked to her, she was so rude saying that she cannot give permission to double deductions if the date is not set to 1 June beause the system says 1 July 2017. The more I tried to explain to her that a consultant just told me it was done, the ruder she got and told me she has to send me back to membership department so that we can change it to June 1.

Another consultant then answered and told me that she was changing the date immediately to June 1 and that I will notice a double deduction, but I will shortly receive an sms confirming that the membership will be active as of 1 June 2017.

Well, guess what. 24 hours later and I have not received an sms...

What does one stand to do next as this is nou almost 2 months of torture just to get medical cover from Gems?
