ICD 10 Code Nightmare
Took my new born son to a GP prior to his registration being complete with Gems. Paid cash for the consultation - the GPs office gave us the form with the ICD 10 code. We submitted this to Gems to claim, however they state that the ICD 10 code is invalid. The GP practice says that they use it all the time, Gems continues to say that the code is invalid. As a client, I am completely stuck in the middle - no advice or any further assistance has been provided by either side. I am extremely frustrated as I have now submitted this claim about 5 times!!!
The ICD 10 code submitted by the GP was Z00.1. I just want someone to assist me with which ICD 10 code should be used.

05 Apr 2021, 10:12Dear GEMS. I was called by a consultant, who said that this error would be resolved by GEMS contacting the Doctor directly. I am still unsure what has transpired. Please could you send me a message as to the current status. It is frustrating that I needed to go to this public platform to get support, whereas this could have been resolved quickly.

08 Apr 2021, 17:08That was two days ago - still I receive a statement that it is not accepted. This is truly a nightmare, that continues for two months. I will have to start the search for a new medical aid.
