I was suspended for 2months from work during April and May. I paid Gems the full amount due to them for April and did a double deduction on my June Salary. All the claims for April and May were reversed by them saying i resign

The call centre is useless and ***********, the walk in centre in Cape Town, adderley Street is even worse. I've been going to them since June and they still have not cleared the debt I supposedly owe them or refund me for paying the claim. The statement for 29 September 2017 say I owe them R974.20, which is the amount they must refund me for paying the claim in April and May. They just dont care or they dont know what they doing. Should I have had an option to change to another medical aid, I would have done so long time ago however all government employees must belong to Gems. Their recent attitude is because they know for a fact that they are the only medical aid I can possibly belong to.

It is such a shame that we government employees can not choose a medical aid of our choice but must be subjected to such ill treatment.
