Horrible Services from GEMS
Horrible services.. i sent my application for ex-gratia on the 27 March 2018, up to date no communication from and after calling every other day to inquire about this, I've just been told I need to send supporting documents and proof of income WHICH I SENT IN MARCH ALREADY. nO HELP NO ASSISTANCE NOTHING, AND IN THE MEANTIME MY HEALTH IS SUFFERING BECAUSE OF A BROKEN WHEELCHAIR.
Secondly, i've sent in my application for chronic medication, and even tho i had to send the forms again and again without any communication from them asking for other documents etc when i call has noone ever called or email me to tell me the outcome. nontheless, my medication for paraplegia has not been approved without any communication from GEMS.
Lastly, a week after i sent in the chronic forms have i been told that i need another application to receive surgical supplies from Appliances. The same process from the start again and in the mean time i have to travel great distances to state hospitals (which doesn't have stock) for medication and supplies.
I am not receiving any help from the call center, they just tell you the process and nothing happens after that.
Good day

Good day
Thank you for alerting us to your concerns.
As discussed, an ex gratia case has been prepared and will be reviewed at the September 2018 sub-committee meeting.
The request for surgical supplies has been received and has been sent to the Medical Advisor for PMB review.
We contacted your health service provider for additional clinical information and were unable to speak with him. Once we have successfully contacted the service provider, we will be in touch.
Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards
