handed over for no reason

gems has led me to be handed over for a debt that is theirs. in December 2016 I had a baby via c/section, in early 2017 I started receiving calls and emails from the hospital saying that I owe R1000. 00 for the delivery. when I asked why the medical aid didn't pay I was told because my doctor didn't provide a motivation why I had to do a c/section. I provided the medical aid and the hospital with the necessary documents. a year went by now mid 2019 I started receiving emails and harassing calls saying I have been handed over to a collections company for the R10000. 00 that I still owe the hospital. I followed it up and I was told that the medical aid has decided that that amount is co-payment supposed to be paid by me as the member. No communication was received by me from the medical aid regarding this. I did not choose to deliver via c/section, the doctor has motivated enough. why is my name being dragged into the mud, where as I have always paid my premium. I'm being given a bad credit record.
