Government Employees Medical Scheme and its NONSENSE!!!

As a public servant, It would be very much better if we were given other choices when it comes to medical aid schemes bcos GEMS does not care about us. I have added dependants and requested new cards which includes the added ppl on the back, it has never arrived. When I went to the branch, they told us they don't have printing machines as they were looted, but it's been more than a year after the unrest, so this is unacceptable, we are struggling with always explaining to pharmacies and doctors in telling them that the dependants are active just not printed because GEMS have issues. And at those doctors we are sometimes told to pay upfront and claim that fee with GEMS, the problem starts when GEMS have to refund you, they ask for so many unnecessary documents but even after submitting all those required documents, they still give you a run around instead of paying you back. I have claims dating back 29th April which hasn't been paid, all requested documents were emailed but still they haven't paid me my money, I have called and emailed them for feedback on numerous occasions, all I got was being told that "my correspondence is being processed" and they will get back to me, which they never did. I so wish we as public servants can have other choices which will include the same benefits as GEMS!!!
