GEMS took away my dignity!!!!

Do you know that the premium of GEMS increased with more than a R1000 for our family and many other members. GEMS said in their Newsletter that the reason was to deliver a better service to it's members. This is utter nonsense. Our Co-payments has increased severely and they always mention that we must remember that if we go to a State/ Government Hospital that there will be no co- payments. What are we then paying for? Why do we then have a Medical aid? My main reason and only option again was to turn to Hellopeter again. I was diagnosed with an untreatable bacteria in my bladder since High School that is called Malakoplakia. Sorry for the spelling. I was put on Macrodantin which GEMS do not want to pay on Chronic. I was diagnosed with severe Endometriosis which could not have been removed of my bladder due to the risk of tearing my bladder. I started to struggle with incontinence which is at this moment extremely humiliating for a 43 year old women wearing nappies and Sanitary pads because my bladder is leaking severely. In the mall, in bed, and at work. Just imagine the comments people make. I know there are people that are much more sicker than than I am. I have been using Vesicare for years but cannot afford it anymore, and the Medical Aid GEMS refuse to pay it. I was diagnosed with Interstitional Cystitis and was treated with botox injections in my bladder before. It assisted me so well before and GEMS did pay for it. This time around GEMS refuse to pay for the treatment. I spend hundreds of Rands on the phone with GEMS Chronic Medicine Authorisation department and there is always all sorts of excuses. Then the need the Nappi code, then they need a script from the Doctor and a Motivational letter, and then they upscale it. I would apparently here from them at 14h00 and then just nothing. I am really struggling here and do not have the cash to pay it out of my pocket. Must I now where nappies everyday and wet my bed next to my husband if I can't even make it to the bathroom. Washing bedding everyday. I have lost my dignity as a women and is failed once again by GEMS who'm have promised better care for our massive premium increase. GEMS- do you want to take out my bladder and give me a bag although there are treatments available for your patients?????
