GEMS the worst medical aid!!!!!

NOW I'M EVEN MORE ANGRY AT GEMS!!!!! I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET AUTHORISATION FOR MY SONS BRACES SINCE MAY. I only get letter of confirmation on Tuesday 9 July!!! Does GEMS not understand that there is a time frame on these things, especially if the child has no space in his mouth?!!!!!!!

I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING WITH GEMS SINCE MAY!!!!

EVENTUALLY AFTER WEEKS OF FIGHTING I GET AUTHORISATION TO HAVE THE BRACES DONE!!!!

BUT I HAD TO PAY THE DEPOSIT FIRST.

I DO NOT understand if I have the benefits available of a dismal R5000 for Orthodontic treatment for my son, why would the monies not be made available to me?!!!!!

It took Gems 6 weeks to give authorisation, of which I am paying more than 3/4 out of my own pocket anyway!

And since when is my son out of age limit?!!!!! What is wrong with GEMS?!!!!

Newspapers, Carte Blanche, and the Ombudsman is my next choice of resolution!
