GEMS terminated membership in December without my knowledge i am only informed in February 12th after myson hospital admission on the 4th February 2026 and 2025 GP CLAIMS not paid to date

I am unable to explain the poor service of GEMS medical aid the way i am so dissatisfied with slow communication and the standard of service is one of the lowest i ever received the past 17 yrs on medical aid.i am new member of GEMS i made multiple calls and enquiries the past month I mean no consultation ever told me my membership was terminated on the 31st December 2025 not a single notification I ever received past month. On the 4th February 2026 I took my 18 month son to hospital due to seizure and if the was terminated hospital would have picked that up on the system, he went to CT scan, phamarcy gave medication all this places in February never saw terminated authorization was given by GEMS ,AMBULANCE sent by GEMS only yesterday the 12 I received membership certificate with termination date of December again today "GEMS *** We confirm that your membership has been terminated effective 31-Dec-2025. For further assistance please call ***. Please do not reply on this sms." Is this not ***** ? Why would I go to hospital and after be told abou membership terminated in December ,all January no communication received even in all the queries I have about unpaid doctor for 2025 GP consultation I was attended no agent ever told me your membership is terminated.

Gems who is liable for the debt in hospital for FEBRUARY 2026 as my self i was never adviser of any terminated contract with GEMS I wouldn't even take my son to private hospital if GEMS adviser me that my medical aid was terminated in December, this must go to Ombudsman as we being bul**** by the services we received hear .someone must tell me why all the claims were not picking up this termination in hospital December 2025 to February 2026
