GEMS REFUSING TO AUTHORISE FOR AN IMPORTANT PROCEDURE FOR A 12 YEAR OLD BOY

My son, a 12 year old has been on crutches for over 8 weeks going from a doctor to a specialist then to a neurologist. The neurologist found that he needs to a lumbar spine procedure. I have been trying to get authorisation from Gems since April 29, 2024? GEMS wanted a motivation and codes from the treating doctor, that was sent over and over after they said the never received anything.. Eventually on April 13, 2024 they acknowledged that they have received the motivation and codes letter. Today, April 15, 2024 GEMS has decided not to authorise for the procedure to take place. GEMS has advised that my 12 year old boy must go for and experimental procedure in the x ray room without anaesthetic.!!!! My boy has been in pain for over 8 weeks and missing school because the soft tissue injury that he has! No pain medication works! We have been members of GEMS for over 20 years! GEMS is failing my son!!!
