GEMS only pays R6000 for a C-section after a previous emergency C-section

On the 27 of May 2021 I had an emergency C-section after being in labor for 24h and I was unable to dilate beyond 7cm resulting in bleeding. After several calls to GEMS, motivation letters, etc. R16000 was paid by GEMS for the C-section. On the 30 of June 2023 I was forced to have another C-section at 39 weeks when the baby was expected to be over 3,6kg and therefore a risk factor for a VBAC according to SA protocols. After several telephone calls, making sure the codes submitted were correct, a motivation letter from the gynecologist Gems paid R6000 of the R22000 procedure... To date a reason could not be provided for this.
