GEMS is utterly a disgraceful medical aid who does not give a damn about anything and only wants your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On 4 July i went to a cardiologist because i have high bloodpressure. I am a dependant on my mothers medical aid and she is on the Beryl option. My GP referred me and phoned for authorization and found me a cardiologist on the Beryl network. I went to the cardiologist and he send me for a kidney ultrasound to and did a heart ultrasound the Gems only pays for the consultation, treadmill test and the Doppler flow but not the rest of the heart ultrasound and kidney ultra sound so i emailed my cardiologist and asked him to wrote a motivation letter to GEMS he did and still GEMS refuses to pay for my bills it is almost R5000 what is the use then for a medical aid. The test were necessary thing to do and the worst part is my grandfather went to the same cardiologist that i went to a month after me and he did not receive a bill or nothing so that tells me they paid for his and he is also on Gems.

The way i feel right now it to lodge a complain at the Council of medical schemes for absolute paying for nothing and not having any information regarding specialist or tests that they pay and do not pay on their website and also poor customer services.

So what the ****** hell is going on with you GEMS????

I also tried since January to become a member but without any success because i just don't get any response out of you.
