GEMS is the epitome of incompetence.
I app**** for a GEMS membership in February of this year. All my documentation was perfect, yet the registration struggled tremendously to materialise.
I only made some sort of headway in April, 2 months later, when I received my membership number- after GEMS finally realised that all my documentation was in-fact correct.
My comfort was short-lived, however, as I would only be able to make a claim in August, due to the obligatory 3 month waiting period. No contribution was deducted from April through to July. In August, GEMS made a double deduction for the months of June and July. In September, another double deduction was made for the months of August and September.
October was the first month which seemed normal. Well...
I went to Clicks today (02/11/2018) to buy medicine over the counter, just to find out that my funds are depleted.
My dependent bought medicine once, in the last 3 months, for the price of around R200.
How can there be no funds? I have made contributions in excess of R20 000 up until now.
This is ridiculous. What form of Service am I paying GEMS for, if I can't even buy medicine?
GEMS seems to utterly useless.
Good day
