GEMS HAPPY TO SEE A MEMBER DEPENDENT DIE

On the 11 TH of Sept 2018, my grand mother had to be hospitalized for pneumonia, I received an sms from GEMS that authorization is pending. I took time off work to go and sit at the GEMS office to find out why. Just to be told is for pre existing conditions. REALLY, how is pneumonia a pre existing condition???? Please tell me this. Yes her anemia is and I understand the waiting period on that but in no way is pneumonia a pre existing condition or does no one at GEMS understand what this really means. No one calls you back, no one gives clarity on anything. All we get told is pre existing. Dr Vather has written a report and so has her dr. Dr Sharma. But still you feel the need to harp on pre existing condition. Do you not care. its fine to take the contribution month after month but when it comes to paying or authorizing you have a problem. Please note this. we will be forced to take her from the hospital and if anything happens we will take this matter further. Please do get someone with a better understanding to review this.
