Gems does not care about health of their members

Gems medical aid has put my brother on a waiting period something that we were not even informed about we were just informed now because there is a surgery that needed to be done on the patient and they declined the Auth due to a waiting period, firstly they are claiming that they send us letter which we signed to say we agree to the waiting period I can assure you they never sent us the letter.

My issue here is the patient is suffering from cerebral parlsey, this is a condition that he was born with from birth and it cannot be cured or be controlled, so how do they put someone who had a condition from birth on a waiting period, the patient needs this operation to be done urgently, are they waiting for him to die so that they can remove the waiting period, in cases like this common sense should be used. Is a waiting period more important than a human being's live. Gems is delaying the Dr's to do their job this patient needs help.

My second issue is regarding the length of stay at intercare hospital that the declined to extend the Auth. That one we understand because intercare is step-down facility, how ever the patient is not recovered as yet he still needs further treatment and a major part of it is the operation that they declined, however gems should accept an Auth for the patient to be transferred to another hospital as he not fully recovered.
