GEMS ARE FAILING PMB PATIENTS YET AGAIN

I became paralysed on the 14th of September. I lost control over my bladder. I had to have a catheter inserted. I was totally depended on the staff that was nursing me and a wheelchair. My Neurosurgeon did all in his power to regsiter me on three PMB conditions. Tetraplegia, Hemaplegia and Paraplegia. My Dr did the Neck operation where my spinalcord was compressed. After a very successfull operation I received a huge bill from the Treating Dr, because Gems don't want to pay the full amount although it is a PMB condition. It is a rather full amount. Gems don't even want to pay my neckbrace after the neck operation. They only cough up R200 and odd call. Why do we always have to run up and down with co-payments even with serious PMB conditions. I am Medically boarded and earn less than a 3rd of my salary. How should I cough up for all these co- payments?
