GEMS

I switched the plans , from Emerald to Emerald value and I was told the hospitals I have access to and I was happy because they were close to home . My son fell ill and he got admitted, the admission was accept by GEMS because it fall under the hospitals I was told I can go to , a day before he got discharged, I was informed by the hospital that there is a co-payment that I must pay but the hospital was still under the hospitals I can go to , I even went as forward as going back to the brochure I was given and also checked on their website and it was on the list , I sent gems various email informing them thinking it was a mistake on their side but I was told by a rude agent that I need to call every time before my children and myself get admitted because they change every year but no one is notified ,but the admission was accepted Gems made no communication with me but told me I should transfer him to another hospital when he had already been there for 3 days , I am forced to pay a copayment of R12 000 because I did not call to find out if my son could be admitted in this hospital, when he was in a very fatal position and they had to admit him immediately. Gems has failed to send important updates concerning their consumers but are quick to send update about chairpersons that doesn’t concern the consumers . Please help me hello Peter
