Ex Gratia Payment

<p>I had a big back operation at Zuid Afrikaans Hospitaal in Pretoria on the 19th of July last year. I app**** for the medical aid ( GEMS ) to pay an Ex Gratia Payment of R27 241.80 to the hospital. I have sent numerous e - mails and made numerous phone calls to their customer service department. The only response I get, is either that they have received it, they are busy with, or that they don't know how long it will take to get feedback. There is no direct telephone number and no direct e - mail address to contact the Ex Gratia Department. The hospital now wants me to pay the account. I have allready lodged complaints with the ombudsman as well as Beeld Newspaper, but they don't know how long it will take for the medical aid to respond to their requests either. </p>
