DECLINED MEDICATION

<p>I am an adult fe,male 52 years old wiith hypertension and cholesterpol. My mom had hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes and gout. She suffered two strokes. My dad had cerebral vascula accident and he was also hypertensive and was confined to a wheel chair and he passed on aged 50 years old. My mom passed on at milpark hospital in 2012.</p> <p>I called GEMS to enquire about my medication oif it was approved and the call centre agent Refilwe Moncho said it was declined. I requested to speak to a super viosr and was put on hold for more than 30 minutes. I then spoke to Zaida who asked me my family history and I told her what i wrote above. </p> <p>GEMS says i am not at risk that is why they declined sim vastatin but as a professional nurse myself I know I am at risk of stroke and heart attack fromn the conditions i am suferringfrom .
