Consider you plan carefully at GEMS

I have been a member of Gems for 26 years. I have had nothing but 'pain and suffering" from them. I am scheduled for Nissen fundoplication surgery on the 21 August 2023. I app**** for authorization on the 28 July 2023 and was declined because I am the incorrect BMI for laparoscopic surgery. I should be going for open surgery. The thing is I would like to have the procedure with the quickest recovery periods. I have bipolar disorder and therefore this might affect my recovery. I wrote a letter to GEMs and continuously receive the automated response. The purpose of this is to inform future members to read the fine print. Secondly its pointless going for a higher option. My advice would be go for a lower option and with the balance take out gap cover. It will benefit you more than having superior cover from GEMS.
