Claim not paid
My child l visited a speech the******. I paid the the****** myself. I did sent all the receipts for the amount of R1000.
On the monthly statement of 16 June 2017, the amount of R1000 is paid to the speech the****** and not to me. This money is suppose to be paid into my account and not the the******.
On 6 July 2017 I phoned Gems and spoke to Elizabeth. The phone line went off. Minutes later I phoned again speaking to Sheila. Can provide the reference number. She said that she would escalate this information to the claims department for correction. This conversation was 56 minutes long.
On 31 July 2017, I phoned Gems again with no news from the claims department. Sheryl mentioned that she will sent it to the claims department again. Can provide the reference number.
11 August 2017 I phoned again. Can provide the reference number. The consultant mentioned that all my previous consultations were not handled correctly and that he will sent it to the claims department again. According to him all the documents that I sent in was correct.
On 28 August 2017 I phoned Gems again and after holding on for a consultant for more than 10 minutes, the line went off again. On 28 August 2017 I sent an email to enquiries. On 5 September 2017, I received a sms that my case was referred for resolution.
On 28 September 2017, I sent an email with an attachment of the email I sent on 28 August 2017 to enquiries again to ask what is going on with my case, and I received an email saying that they do not know what I am talking about.
I cannot phone Gems again because I spent money on the phone calls with consultants that cannot help me. I am told to phone back every time and every time I phone, no news about my problem.
I need this matter to be solved as soon as possible. I am a paying client of Gems. I followed all the correct procedures but still I am being punished for something that I am not responsible for. People responsible for paying out claims cannot read and don't do their work. Somebody must take responsibility for this.
