Bad Customer Service: Unable to process claims on time

<p>Good Day,</p> <p> </p> <p>Once again i have had a poor experience with GEMS customer services, specifically relating to claims not processed.</p> <p> </p> <p>My wife is currently on the maternity benifit, initially Pathcare submitted the claim with the incorrect IDC10 code. I then contacted them to resubmit the claim with the correct ICD10 code - GEMS did not acknowledge the claim at all when sending it to them to ********** <p>I then had to follow-up with Pathcare, they told me they heard nothing from GEMS (which didnt suprise me).</p> <p> </p> <p>I then contacted GEMS on (Friday 24th March) myself spoke to an agent, he actually acknowledged the mistake on GEMS side and told me that his team leader will sort it out and i should contact GEMS the (tuesday 28th March). I then decided to give GEMS an extra 3 days just based on my current experience. Called them right now and guess what????</p> <p> </p> <p>They told me it exceeded the 4 month claim period which means they have to now send it to the stale deparment!!! Can you believe that? they take a month to ackowledge the claim then tell me that i must wait an additional 10 days because of their delay.</p> <p> </p> <p>So now i am in arrears with Pathcare due to GEMS processing department taking their time.</p> <p> </p> <p>See call reference numbers..If it helps</p> <p>-claim on 21 February 2017 with reference number MH ********** 5.</p> <p>- MH ********** 1 </p> <p> </p> <p>what a joke!! can someone compentent please call me... ********** 254</p> <p> </p> <p>regards,</p> <p> </p> <p>Siraaj</p> <p> </p>

Thanks, Still waiting on someone to call me.

Just to add insult to injury, i contacted GEMS this morning my wifes about to give birth the end of this month and not received her value pack (bag).

Also instead of the stale review taking 10 days as per my previous communication with GEMS i have been communicated it will now take 60 days.

So pathcare can now hand me over to debt collectors.

Great!!

Good day

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

As explained by the Scheme please be advised that the pathology account could not be reviewed for payment as the account was submitted with the incorrect ICD-10 codes.

With regards to the maternity bag, please note that members receive their maternity bags in their 3rd trimester. Your wife's bag is in the process of being delivered.

We trust the above is order.

Kind regards

The GEMS online team

Good Day,

Please see below response as its the same response to yesterdays email sent by Carlo Titus.

With regards to the pathology account submitted against the incorrect ID10 Code, i subsequently asked the Pathcare to resubmit it agains the correct ICD10 code. I have sent all correspondence to Carlo regarding this. "My initial review explains this clearly".

With regards to the Maternity bag; the reason why i asked is my wife's colleague at school is 2 months behind her in terms of registering on the maternity program but has received her bag previously.

thank you
