Baby delivery authorization declined

I app**** to be added as a dependent on my mothers medical aid on the 12/02/2021 and the new certificate as an added dependent was sent on 16/02/2021. there was no any pre-existing condition that we were aware of at the time of the application. hence the application form did not have any information about the condition.

It was only on the 26/02/2021 that I found out I was pregnant . I was about 9 weeks pregnant by then .

This information was disclosed when I app**** for the maternity benefits and I was approved for and using until I had to deliver, it only came as a surprise to learn that there is a waiting period in place Only when it was time to deliver.

I sent through a Dr's motivational letter for the emergency procedure that had to be done. But my claim was rejected. I spoke to a consultant on 21/09/2021 who advised that the waiting period applies if one is less than 8 weeks pregnant by the time they join medical aid and in this case I was less than 8 weeks pregnant and the consultant adviced that i write a letter to appleal the rejected claim. I wrote the email on 22/09/2021 but still have not received any feedback

How does one qualify for maternity benefits but not the delivery process??
