Authorisation pending for 8 days in hospital

I was admitted on mondal last week, 5th november for depression.

Before admission, i called Gems to confirm if i can accept to be admitted, gems said yes Everything is fine i can be admitted. The hospital requested authorisation and until today , the 8th day in hospital, still pending. Reason being that gems want to investigate if i was ever disgnosed with depression before and If i disclosed prior to joining, Which i never had before.

Since then i have been spending a lot of time and money calling gems to get feedback to no avail. Thursday the 8th, i was pulled from a therapy session and told that I might have to stop the counselling sessions and discharged, because Gems is not approving my authorisation and not giving any feedback.

I then spent all Afternoon on the fone with gems. Finding answers, but no one could explain to me what is beif done at the exact moment and which steps gems took. On friday I received an email from gems stating that they are still investigating if i had this condition before and if i disclosed it. Which if they cam check in their systems I was never diagnosed with this before. On friday the doctors did not do any sessions with me than discuss about the payments and gems. Which now is increasing my stress on top of the stress i am at the hospital for.

Weekend passes, no feedback. Monday the 12th,no response. The doctors told me to fix the money problems with gems before they see me. Upon calling gems, the is no one who know what is happening at the moment there are no notes from the investigators.

I insisted to speak to someone senior until i found Kgotso who talked to his senior and they promised me that at 12 noon, i will get a response. I waited all day all night and up to now i stil dont have any feedback. This Morning also the doctors ask me first about medical aid. And i did not have response. They do not have the energy to continue treating me while they are not goong to get paid.

I am frustrated and my hospital stat is prolonged. Right now i am only atyending group counselling and not seeing doctors.
