HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

I am writing this review on behalf of a friend.

I attended a wedding 4 weeks ago. We spent the night (25/02/2023) at the Gecko ridge and it was a truly horrible experience, they receive a 0 rating from me and my family! We received horrible service and there was no receptionist present. Unfortunately I made the mistake of leaving one of my keys (as we booked 2 rooms) in the reception area (thinking that there would be a person present 24/7 as advertised on their webpage).

We attended our wedding that evening at a different venue, upon our return there was no person in sight and no one could assist in retrieving the key to our room, I tried to phone the contact details as displayed on the invoice with no luck as it went through to the answering machine. I then had to sleep in my car together with my daughters-in-law, and she has a broken leg. We wanted to leave the next morning and at 06h30, I went looking to see if the reception was open, and yet again no one was in sight! We could not leave the venue as the security guard was nowhere to be seen. Nothing about this venue was up to scratch as even the bathrooms were falling apart.

I have NEVER experience anything like this! I did raise my concerns with the owner who brushed, He then proceeded to deny me a refund. He then mentioned that I had breakfast and as I mentioned to him it was offered to me by the chef who was highly embarrassed by the incident that happened and was trying to make nice.

Definitely not a home from home venue, if you like the good things this certainly is not a venue to look at.
