Friendly warning for future brides
Dear future bride
This is a beautiful venue - But I need to warn you of a few things to look out for: When you make an appointment to see the venue, you meet with someone other than a wedding planner who then says things like "the grooms get ready in this room" and "we can put fairylights here" and basically promises you all of the nice sorts of things.
You don't get to meet the wedding planner before a non-refundable deposit is made to the venue.
When meeting the wedding planner, you find out that "the room is an additional charge, the fairylights are additionally charged, etc etc etc" (this is on the all inclusive package.)
Further - the quote says 50 guests (And I confirmed with the manager that I can indeed invite 50 people to my wedding). After the wedding they withheld my whole (additional) deposit, because we had 50 guests + the bride and the groom
Once again, not communicated with you beforehand (and even if you do enquire about it, they still lie about it)
Further to that - We specifically requested that the arch be redone with fresh greens, the wedding coordinator promised that this would be done, but it wasn't
Its a beautiful venue and other than what is mentioned above, everything went great.
But wouldn't recommend Gecko Ridge if you are getting married on a budget.
