Gearbox Mobile - Beyond terrible, unreliable, unproffessional and ***********.

In January 2018 I contacted a company i found on Internet called Gearbox Mobile. They were quick to respond and came out to my premises to view vehicle, made all the right promises and next day the flatbed truck was there to collect my vehicle. The company sent me a quote and insisted on 50% deposit which I paid over immediately and they assured me my vehicle will be ready within a week. from there they were constantly coming up with excuses and stories. they then said gearbox has been repaired and even requested for me to pay to repair transfer case, I then purchased a transfer case and dropped at their premises. a few weeks later again I phoned and spoke to the mechanic directly who advised me that they are yet to repair the gearbox and when I queried why did they say the gearbox is repaired and now its the transfer case they couldnt answer me. The owner of the company "JJ" wont take calls, respond to emails or messages instead you have to speak to the receptionist / admin lady ( Charlene ). For 3 and half months I battled, begged and threatened but every day there is a new excuse as to why vehicle isnt ready. During this time the previous mechanic contacted me and said he left as there is never money for parts as they take deposits but then dont purchase the parts and some cars been standing there for 2 years already. Obviously this is why he wanted me to pay for a transfer box that wasnt even tested as gearbox wasnt repaired. I went to their premises to see vehicle and when I drove the vehicle it was exactly as it was so all money paid but no improvement on the vehicle, Again promises and deadlines were put in place and nothing was kept to. A few days ago I eventually spoke to mechanic who assure me vehicle is fine and they were going to meet me somewhere to drop..... we met in Edenvale where they took another R4000 cash from me ( after sending them R700 in the morning for oil as they couldnt get hold of their boss JJ to supply oil )... on way home my vehicle only had 2 gears, burning smell, 4WD light shining on clock cluster, 4x4 selector lever showed its in 4L but it isnt.... front propshaft lying in my boot, the car is full of oil including the seats to such a point I think they will need to be replaced as it will never come clean. This company is ********s as they have no clue about gearboxes, take money and dont repair etc. they put up this lavish website but the companies' registered name or Reg nr is nowhere to be found and apparently they are moving again so running from the people they owe the money or refunds to. I wont sent a wheelbarrow to this company for repair and you will get better service from a tombstone than from this company. I am proceeding with legal action against them and urge everybody who has dealt with them to stop dealing with them before its too late or if you have been done in by them as well lay a charge against them or do affidavit to state your case. we have to stop this exploiting of peoples money.
