NEVER USE THESE MECHANICS

<p>My car broke down in Worcester and Tiger Wheel and Tyre put a new battery in my car however a day later driving home my car broke down and needed its alternator repaired. The mechanic who I was refered to by Tiger Wheel and Tyre, Morne took my car and I had asked for quotes 3 times a day everyday since he had my car. I told him I got a quote for R1600 from an Alfa specialist in Cape Town but that I'm a single mom and need a quote first as its an old car and I can't really afford the repairs. He told my dad daily he will get back to me with a quote but they hadn't started my car. Wednesday he says my car will be ready at 3 and it will be R4900. I never gave him permission to work on my car. I never received a quote and now the car is already fixed , yet he couldn't give me an invoice till yesterday. I find this highly ********* as it is against the consumer protection act no 68 of 2008 sec 15 that no repairs can be done to car unless preauthorisation to a fixed amout or a quote has been given and accepted. Neither of these were given and now I am in the position of getting myself into debt that I cannot afford. I Just paid a R1000 for the battery and R7000 on repairs last year. This is an old car and I was thinking of upgrading now I was forced to pay for repairs I can not afford on a teachers salary being a single mom. Morne is aggressive and does not care about his customers or following correct prodedure.</p>
