Unexplained Usage Increases and Continuous Tariff Hikes

I am lodging this complaint against GCT Electricity due to what appears to be ongoing unexplained increases in both electricity tariffs and reported daily consumption.

Over the past several months, we have observed a dramatic increase in our average daily electricity usage despite making no significant changes to our household’s electricity consumption habits. No major appliances have been added, occupancy has not changed, and our usage patterns remain largely the same. Yet according to GCT’s reporting, our daily consumption continues to rise.

To make matters worse, tariff increases have further inflated the cost of electricity, resulting in bills that are becoming increasingly difficult to justify. As customers, we expect transparency, accurate metering, and meaningful explanations when consumption suddenly increases without any corresponding change in usage behaviour.

What is particularly frustrating is that customers are left feeling powerless. We are expected to simply accept higher charges month after month without receiving satisfactory explanations for these abnormal consumption trends.

I am requesting that GCT Electricity provide:

* A detailed breakdown of how consumption is being measured. * An investigation into the apparent increase in daily usage. * Clear justification for the charges being levied. * Greater transparency around tariff adjustments and billing calculations.

At present, I have little confidence in the accuracy of the reported consumption figures or the fairness of the billing process. Unless these concerns are properly addressed, I believe other consumers should exercise caution and closely monitor their own accounts.

This situation is unacceptable and requires urgent attention.
