Electricity- GCT

I am having an unfortunate experience of renting an apartment at Manhattan Lofts, and I must say, it is far from favorable. The most pressing issue was the exorbitant electricity prices. To my disbelief, we ended up spending R300 within just two days on electricity alone. This is an outrageous amount, especially considering that young professionals striving to live a comfortable lifestyle are often on a tight budget.

If you're a young professional looking for a reasonably priced living situation, I would strongly advise against choosing Manhattan Lofts. The high electricity costs will drain your finances, making it nearly impossible to maintain a comfortable lifestyle.

Moreover, the management is utterly unresponsive. Despite numerous complaints, our issue was never resolved. In fact, it seemed like our electricity bill only increased after each complaint, adding to the frustration. Management is well aware of these issues; they've even inserted a clause in the lease that requires double rent if you leave early. They know that for working-class individuals, affording double rent is practically impossible, which forces many to stay despite the dire circumstances.

I can’t wait for my lease to expire so I can finally leave this place. In summary, I cannot recommend Manhattan Lofts to anyone, particularly young professionals. Save yourself the stress and financial strain—look elsewhere for a more affordable and responsive living arrangement. Most people are complaining about this but it’s falling on deaf ears as if Central development is benefiting from GCT electricity prices.

I have been a tenant at Route 82 for 2 years and have never experienced any of this Manhattan has got to be the worst place one can live in.
