GC Solar failure to fulfill waraanty

I purchased a R8500 inverter unit from them. Less than a year later the battery seems not to be holding its charge. They claim the battery was damaged due to over discharging, yet the unit is advertised as to have an Over Discharge protection unit. If the battery is damaged, it means the protection unit was not working.

GC Solar gave the following reply - Gel batteries only last 6 months and we will doe nothing for you.
