Held hostage when trying to leave without catching a train

You would think the gautrain service is to move a person from A to B. Well they take that so serious that once you have moved past the scanner and are in the faculty for 10 minutes you must catch a train or they will fine and/or arrest you.

I learned this the hard way. I was waiting for a train, then got called away because of an emergency, on trying to leave I scanned my card. The terminal displayed "Insufficient funds" I had over R 100 on the card. I went to the cashier, who told me I must pay a R 200 fine. I did not have the R 200 because I just put credits on the card. I asked for my card back, the cashier said I must pay the fine now. I said I can't. I asked how do I leave? He said I must pay first. This is way people go postal. So now I have an emergency at home and I'm trapped so I try to leave. The cashier imminently calls the security and 8 of the "I'm just doing my job" surrounded me and tried to arrest me. They forced me to catch a train.

This rule needs to be changed ASAP. What if I had a medical immanency? Are they going to arrest a woman in labor or force her to go bleed on the train?
