Gautrain seriously endangers passengers lives.

On Sunday evening, 22nd December 2019, at about 17:30 we travelled from ORTambo to Gautrain, Sandton. We had arranged for our Uber driver to collect us at the West Street pick-up point, corner Rivonia Road, at about 18:30. The Uber driver arrived on time and we put our cases into the Uber car. Two black guys arrived and started to cross-question the Uber driver. They told him that this drop-off/pick-up point was their taxi rank and Taxify drivers were not allowed to use this place. I asked them who they were and they said they were taxi-drivers. I asked them to show me the sign that said Uber was not allowed to use this public area. There is no such sign so they could not show it to me. They took our cases out of the Uber and dropped them on the tarmac. They chased the Uber Driver away. They offered us an aged and falling apart Mercedes taxi and we declined that. We then had to walk a kilometer up and down the road to get our Uber. We are 69 years of age and it was extremely frightening. There were no Gautrain Guards to protect us and resolve this problem. It was definitely unfun and really dangerous dragging our suitcases up the road because of no protection from Gautrain. This morning Monday at 09:50 I called the Gautrain helpline and was told that he could not help me and that I must write an email. I tried to do that and there was an error. I also tried to called Bombela and there was a recorded message that they are closed. This is a disgraceful situation where Gautrain does not keep an eagle eye on especially old people in such a situation.
