Gautrain Long Walk to Sandton!

On Sunday the 30th of October 2016, I too ke Northbound Gautrain to Rosebank at 13:26 in Hatfield. Unfortunately for me and the other passengers aboard, just after leaving Malboro in the tunnel, there was a power failure. We were informed of thusly and advice to stay put as they try to resolve, after about 30mins of waiting and people getting restless, now we are informed the train is to be evacuated and we are to head to Sandton on foot. I'm curious to know why we didn’t make our way back to Malboro, surely the distance was way shorter than the approximately 6.5km walk we experienced. As we were making this 1 hour 35min walk underground, one elderly lady we were walking behind the whole time had to stop when we were about halfway there, she couldn't go on any longer, she was experiencing shortness of breath, I do not have any idea if there were any other cases as I was more or less at the front of the group. When we eventually arrive at the platform, there is no communication whatsoever, except that automated apology on the intercom that kept apologizing for DELAYS!!!! (Communication goes a long way at easing people’s minds), nobody to let us know how to proceed (had to ask the guard where to catch the next train to Rosebank). Is this the first time this happens, shouldn’t we at the very least be met by a human being who can explain to us why we had to go though that and express a sincere apology, maybe even offer some water, nobody walks that long without needing water! We instead were all expected to just go about our business like nothing happened and surely those who were headed for Sandton did just that. As for the rest of us, we once again had to wait another 30mins wait for the next train to Park, Never mind the 2 hour delay. Only after people had complained do they see the need to offer some water, which at this point now is fruitless as there is n way of determining who walked in the tunnel and who didn’t, this could have been prevented (surely you knew the whole time we were making our way that there were people walking towards Sandton, 1 hour 30mins is enough time to prepare). I eventually board the train to Rosebank, tag out (still get charged) after a 3 hour ordeal that was meant to be a 38minute train ride from Hatfield to Rosebank. Is there no plan for situations like the one we happened to find ourselves in, happen, because it did not look like it. That is no way to treat paying customers, Gautrain needs to do better.
