Gautrain announcements drive me crazy

The Gautrain has several announcements inbetween the trains arriving. The one about 'Do not obstruct the train doors...' is repeated sometimes every 3 minutes in both Midrand and Gautrain station. Each announcement is repeated twice. Therefore it is possible to hear these announcements 60 times per week.

It drives me crazy. It is loud and obnoxious and patronising. I am not a child that needs to be told 60 times how not to behave. It is hypocritical too, as most severe delays are caused by Gautrain themselves and their technical issues and bus strikes. Gautrain reports an on time performance of 98.4% I think, and I don't think much of that is people delaying trains.

Furthermore, the only time I have seen people obstructing doors are when the train is overcrowded and people are jamming to get in. That however cannot be blamed on commuters, but on Gautrain not being able to deal with the capacity at certain times.

I have complained several times via Twitter and on the Gautrain support site but I am being ignored. I am pretty sure those people thinking the announcements are a good idea are not on the platforms themselves and are not subjected to them day in day out.

If I don't comply after hearing the message 240 times in a month, I will never comply.

If it is absolutely necessary, reduce the frequence to once per hour or something more reasonable please.

The Gautrain is actually losing my business, since on days that I know I might be stressed, I avoid the Gautrain.
