Faith in SA restored

On Sunday 23 June 2024, I left my handbag containing my passport, and numerous other items as well as money when I disembarked the Gautrain at the Sandton station. It was only when I boarded the train to OR Tambo that I realized I had left/ dropped my handbag somewhere. A quick search around me confirmed that I definitely did not have it with me, do I disembarked and immediately went to the security control centre where Mpho whe Assistant Security Mansger at Sandtonnstation immediately started getting in touch with all mobile units between park station , Marlboro, Hatfield etcetera to ask for assistance in finding my missing handbag. At all times she acted with incredible empathy, professionalism and efficiency and her persistence and that of all the security members both on the trains as well as the platforms was way beyond what I could have ever wished for. Finally, after more than an hour my bag was found by a guard on the train to Hatfield. A quick security check was done and the necessary confirmation received. An hour later, the handbag was returned to me with all my possessions intact. What an incredible experience this was. I must honor Mpho and her incredible team for what you all did. It restored my hope that SA is moving in the right direction and that slowly but surely things will improve and SA will once again be considered a first world country.
