Another wedding ******* - you decide

My kids booked this wedding photographer (GAUTENGPHOTOGRAPHY/JA PHOTOGRAPHY) more than a year in advance and paid the required 50% deposit. A few weeks later they made a life decision to relocate abroad, thus moving the wedding date out for a while. Really hard to believe that these photographers will not refund one cent of the deposit, despite the fact that the proposed date was still more than eleven months away. I do not dispute that they do hide this in small print right at the bottom of their quote. I do have a problem when people like this hide behind their own unfair terms and conditions at the expense of young people who deal with them in good faith. Surely these cancellation terms should only apply when relatively short notice is given and should include a refund of sorts if another appointment is made on that date?
