Krugersdorp Oncology Centre Angels

I have accompanied my wife, Ritha Ramsuchit to Krugersdorp branch of Gauteng Oncology for her cancer treatment since October 2023 to present February 2024. During our visits we spend 4 to 5 hours at the Krugersdorp Oncology Centre on each visit (currently weekly). For myself as an accompanying person rather than a patient, I have been amazed by superb treatment from Dr Frank Michaelis (who explains things in simple language, outlines the process and prepares one for possible outcomes without creating any unnecessary worry) and the support staff at Krugersdorp Oncology Centre. We have consistently experienced excellent service starting from the person at the security entrance, to the reception personnel, to the sisters at the Oncology Centre to Dr Michaelis. During each visit, I witness professionalism, compassion and empathy shown to each patient. It is the small things that the team does that makes such a big difference to the patients. For example, the staff makes a concerted effort to relate to each patient by name and take time to connect with them individually on a personal level. They also seem to remember what each person likes or wants and promptly attends to those needs each time without being reminded or prompted. This is amazing, especially for staff that interact with so many different people on a daily basis. The Team members are always cheerful, energised and uplifting, so much so, that we actually look forward to our visits on Monday mornings! That positive energy is contagious and rubs on to the patients as well. The Team also goes beyond the call of duty by taking the initiative to give patients motivational gifts that they made themselves. Again, it is these little things that make such a big difference in peoples lives. The Krugersdorp Oncology Centre is decorated according to the seasons/occasions to provide a welcoming environment and conducive to raise morale. The staff actions come down to their warm personality and positive attitude.

To the Krugersdorp Oncology team, thank you for the excellent work and service you provide. Also, thank you for consistently going the extra mile. Thank you for the work you do behind the scenes. Your efforts are commendable and admirable and most appreciated.
