Lousy , super expensive experience : Gary Rom Fourways Mall

I went to Gary Rom in Fourways yesterday for a colour, cut and hight lights - its was such a bad experience and outrageously expensive.

I was told that Arun(?) is a senior stylist and to be fair, he is enthusiastic about his work and gave me the rather exorbitant quote of R3 250 in advance.

I accepted but on the agreement that my hair would look shiny and healthy at the end of the process . THREE hours later, I left with a horrible blow dry, very , ordinary colour and hair that look pretty dry and definitely not shiny. I normally pay R2 000 /R2 500 for much better quality service, excluding the expensive products I buy. It's not that I wasn't prepared to pay, but I do expect excellent service at that price. What really annoyed the most me though was the fact that for the entire time, 3 hours, he was talking /performing for his apprentice telling her what to do from sweeping the floor, raising the chair, what brush to get, how to apply colour on my hair which she still kept messing up.

At that price , I do not expect to be an experiment for an apprentice to practice on! That is what you get for a highly discounted price and have to be told when you book and agree to be a trainee's model. They insist on unnecessary add on service, that obviously push up the price - like asking me so many times to order food from Mugg and Bean . Eventually I said yes, to stop them asking - an hour later, just before I left, they brought the toasted sandwich saying that they have given it to the wrong person. There were only 2 people in the store , which should have also been a warning sign on a Saturday. Who even wants to eat food when someone it cutting your hair?

Unless you have endless hours to spend, willing to pay an outrage price for bog standard work , willing be used for some entry level apprentice to do their training while you have to listen to an endless barrage of mindless instructions being given to them, stay away! Of course before I left, he was still trying to sell me more product , even though I told him I used excellent brands that I am happy with - really all in all a truly lousy experience and total waste of time.
