In this day and age?!

Here is a company that specialises in navigation and sell devices with downloadable maps from the internet. When selecting my device months back it was always my intention to add Topo maps at a later stage once I had recovered from the initial R9k outlay. Some months later I finally purchased the maps as per the CapeUnionMarts advice - simply download them on to an SD card. Numerous attempts later and I had only managed to get 12-15% of the download at most through my home, and then business connection. Garmin SA through twitter suggested I called their walk-in local agents - Navworld. In the meantime the helpful staff at Cape Union Mart had managed to complete the download over the course of 2 days achieving the full 100%. However the maps still arent showing on the device. The salesman - worthy of praise - Donovan at V&A called Navworld who said they'd been experiencing the same problem themselves. Both NAvworld and Garmins own Online Support suggested this wasnt going to be rectified soon and that I should just fill out the necessary paperwork for a refund. Frustrating outcome given the fact Id footed extra for the machine and was now the proud owner of an unecessary SD card. Garmin SA said please allow 2-3 weeks for the refund, a further setback, and lets face it cheek, given modern bankings facilities and quick payment methods. Then most recently Garmin Europe responded with a tough luck mail - I had apparently agreed to terms that stated downloads were not refundable. What on earth are they thinking? That me, Navworld & Cape Union Mart are trying to **** them of a sale?! There's only one party here not meeting their end of the bargain.
