Garmin ****

Garmin SA is currently ****ming people by selling products that doesn't anywhere near what you pay for. They have a new method of selling new products by saying the old product is not repairable and you can buy a new watch at a so called discount. If you go and do your research, you will find the same watch cheaper at Takealot. When you queries this, they say Takealot belongs to them. This is next level dishonesty. The products are so bad, In May 2025 my Edge 130 stopped charging, send it in for repairs and they submitted a quotation for a replacement Edge 530 saying that my unit is irreparable. I then paid the R5000 for the new unit but never received the old one. What do they keep it for if you cannot fix it. This should be returned as proof that they don't fix it and sell it again. In June I detected that my Forerunner 735XT looked like it had water in. I send it to Garmin for repairs, and again the same happened, Not repairable here is a quotation for almost R6000 to replace. The description was that the screen started delaminating. The unit wasn't man handled and did not even have a single scratch on it. All functions on the watch is still working 100%. This 735XT was a reconditioned unit that was send to me not to long ago as my previous 735xt got damaged the first time I swam with it. I then refused to pay another R6000 for the second month in a row and requested to have a word with a Manager. Manager David Tait wasn't available/ prepared to talk to me. I then mailed him, raising my concerns. Again he was to busy to respond and got Romeo to reply to my email.

The quality and the service from Garmin, doesn't even deserve a 1 start as they are pathetic to say the least.

The sad part is, there are a number of cyclist in Bethlehem that experienced the same **** service as what I did. With a service/ quality rating of less that 42% Garmin SA should be ashamed for how they are ripping the people off. We all know that the economy is not what it should be, and that is why they do what they do.
