Fenix 3 repeated trouble. In warranty

Contact person Jacques Pretorius and Ibraheem Mayet. Garmin job card 40061.

I bought a Fenix 3 bundle in March 2017. It was on a fantastic special R6500, market down from R10000. It worked very well for a little over 3 months. Then one day it died. It was bought from Due South Centurion. I returned it to them and they sent it to Garmin.

About 6 weeks later I was given a new unit, complete with bundle of strap charger etc. This worked well for 2 months. Then one day the time mysteriously changed to 35 minutes slow. This was very odd. I had kept up to date with all the software updates that was pushed through. I reset it and time returned to normal.

2 weeks later it went blank. It was strange, because I thought I had charged it within the preceding 2 or 3 days. I charged it and was back to normal.

2 weeks later it went blank again. Now I was suspicious. I reset and it worked normally. I reset it and was back to normal once again.

A few days later it went 35 minutes slow again. Reset. Back to normal.

Within a week it went blank once again. Reset.

And again a few days later, same again. Reset. Repeat.

I was frustrated but away on holiday so I gave it a last reset.

Then a few days later. Again. Blank.

I contacted both Garmin and Due South to return this watch and asked for a cash refund. I am no longer interested in such an unreliable product.

They insisted on taking the item in for testing. It has been two weeks and I have heard nothing.

I do not want another Garmin watch. Based on my experience and the reviews on this site, it is a poor quality product.
