Crud Garmin item

I had a Garmin basic navigation thing and all went well. A few months later,a message pops up that map updates are needed and I see from online research to go to Cape union Mart outside the V&A waterfront. Twice i went there and twice was told Garmin sent wong CD or their computer was down or something. I sold it as is. Will never buy Garmin again. Rather have Wayze on my phone. Ten times better. The Garmin navigator was a gift from my brother.
