Garment Division refused to exchange an item with proof of purchase

Upon returning an item received extremely bad service the area manager was extremely rude speaking over me and telling me he will talk to the manager. I asked for the store manager numerous times the store assistant stood looking at me like I'm talking French! I asked for the manager on the phone details he first refused then Gave wrong details.
