Horrible service from Garden Court Polokwane

Good day all.

I suppose there comes a time when even the hospitality establishments one often uses can offer ********** service. I have used Tsogo Sun's hotels and conference facilities all the way from Pretoria to Cape Town for many years but what I had to deal with last night is unforgivable.

My mother who had travelled all the way from Tembisa in Gauteng to Polokwane via taxi found herself in need of accomodation as she could not continue with her journey. She then made her way to GARDEN COURT in POLOKWANE where I had advised her to go as I had used Tsogo Sun establishments many a times before without incident. Upon arrival she was welcomed by a gentleman by the name of THEMBA at the front desk. She was then told they could not accept her payment as the card she wanted to use was not her's but mine, which is all fair in these ********** times we live in. After a distressing call from her I spoke to THEMBA asking him to send me the hotel's banking details so as to make payment. To my surprise he refused, he then called his superior who identified herself as NTOMBI RAMASHALA. NTOMBI then told my mother who is 62 years of age to walk unaccompanied to an ATM to withdraw cash as no other means of payment could be accepted by the hotel.

Such a request to an elderly woman in our country is careless, thoughtless and somewhat evil. One cannot ask an elderly woman to do such given our crime rate.

A simple call to Mosate Lodge's front desk ensured my mother was picked up from GARDEN COURT to Mosate Lodge where she was well accommodated without any hassles.

To Tsogo Sun I say, employees like NTOMBI RAMASHALA are there only to get paid when the month ends, and would not know hospitality if it hit her in the face. She is a heartless woman who cannot use her own discretion and intelligence to solve the simplest of challenges. To look an elderly woman in the eye and order her to walk to an ATM in a cold winter night is just evil.

Tsogo Sun has lost the public consultation meetings that I and my company religiously held with communities, the trips I often book for my daughter and her mother, the team building sessions we had as a company, basically the support of a whole organisation.

I hope NTOMBI RAMASHALA's mother never comes across a person like her daughter especially in the dead of night.
