YOU'LL ALWAYS LOSE AT GAME

I purchased a 50 inchTV from Game which subsequently failed within the warranty period. The technician declared that the unit could not be repaired. I requested a replacement unit, however the 50 inch TV’s from that supplier were discontinued. Game offered me a 49 inch TV. I was not comfortable with this. I requested that they provide me a 55 inch TV and we split the difference in the cost, which amounted to R500 each way. The manager at Game categorically refused to consider this offer. He insisted that his store will lose in the deal and the fact that I was the one who lost (by ending up with a smaller TV) was an issue between myself and the supplier. I was shocked and appalled at his approach. Game advertises all these wonderful returns policies and stuff, however it is a very different issue when you get to the store. If something happens, they will ensure that you carry the burden of the loss. They will not move an inch to please a customer. I explained my happiness to the manager and he just did not respond. I have had much better experiences at Hi Fi Corporation and Checkers. Their prices are better and when there is an issue the staff there will go out of their way to ensure that you are satisfied. Game doesn’t care. If you have a choice, rather go to Hi Fi Corporation or Checkers. Game doesn’t care about you. Don’t wait until you have a problem to find out. I was silly enough to believe the gimmicky advertising. Hi Fi Corp and Checkers offer a much better service (and prices – check carefully) and they genuinely care about their customers. I also find that the managers and staff at Checkers and Hi Fi Corp are better trained, are more approachable and sincerely try to make sure that the customer is happy. Game is a superficial business – their policies are there to attract turnover, not make customers happy. Just look at the Hello Peter complaints – all responded to with exactly the same standard response. At first glance anyone may think they are really concerned, but when you check you’ll see it’s a standard text copied on all messages. Just like their advertising – superficial. For a better experience go to Hi Fi Corporation or Checkers – the guys who care. I regret having purchased from Game, and I lost out badly. Don’t let the same thing happen to you. I now have a smaller TV than I paid for.
