We Beat any Price

I went to Game George to purchase a Samsung 40l grill microwave. The listed price is R2699. The exact same product in Cape Town sells for R2199. The store phoned to confirm this special. However when the floor manager was asked to approve the discount he refused saying that it is not a local competitor. He then insisted that a delivery/courier fee needed to be added. I then asked him to provide me with documentation in respect to T&C’s he said those are confidential documents. I then made a recording where he refused to comment on his statement. I feel very disappointed that I as consumer have to go extreme lengths to get the discount that epitomizes the Game Logo that ‘We beat any price’... EXCEPT!! And lately the except has become more and more unreliable. A few previous incidents have been that I couldn’t get a discount because the competitors was not trading on a Saturday (the day i wanted to make my purchase) or because the deal was an online special.. I am now going to consult a legal opinion to find out if the statement that ‘We’ll beat any price’ should be challenged and completely removed as this no longer reflects accurately and is in actuality false advertising.
