Voucher only used on weekdays

My wife went to buy some groceries using the voucher but was returned from the store without anything because it is claimed they can only help her with the voucher on weekdays. This was never explained when she bought the voucher. This has caused strain to us at there groceries were for supper and lunch of the day.
